Also, Lamezia airport (in Calabria) is about 3 hours in total from the villa (including a 30min ferry crossing from Villa San Giovanni to Messina - ferries leave every 15 minutes). Direct flights from the United Kingdom/Rep of Ireland... British Airways and EasyJet fly direct from London Gatwick to Catania (all year round). EasyJet also fly direct from London Gatwick to Palermo all year round. Ryanair fly direct to Trapani from Standsted, Liverpool, Luton and Dublin.
